Just before 1 a.m. this morning seven vehicles were involved in a collision on Interstate 805 near Market Street. California Highway Patrol responded and was forced to close 5 lanes of traffic for several hours. According to reports, there were multiple people injured and the cause of the accident is presently unknown.
How Long Does it Take the CHP to Complete an Accident Report?
It typically takes the California Highway Patrol (CHP) two weeks to produce a complete a motor vehicle accident report. The report will provide information about the actions of each involved vehicle, the injuries and complaints of the drivers and passengers, and ultimately will offer an opinion as to the cause of the accident.
Those who have been injured may have rights against those who caused the accident. They could be entitled to reimbursement for their medical expenses, time lost from work and impacts to their quality of life.
