Motorcyclist May Suffer Serious Injuries After Rear-ending a Sedan

A 53-year-old motorcyclist rear-ended a sedan in Loma Portal Tuesday and suffered serious injuries. The motorcyclist was traveling south on Rosecrans Street around 6:45 a.m. on Rosecrans Street during stop and go traffic. The southbound traffic stopped near Lytton Street, the motorcyclist struck the back of a 2001 Saturn sedan.

The motorcyclist suffered multiple broken ribs and a broken hip, San Diego police Officer Dan Lasher said. He is expected to recover. The sedan's occupants were not injured.

A traffic alert was issued, Police blocked off Rosecrans Street at  Evergreen Street and Lytton Street and conducted traffic control on nearby roads.
