FedEx Involved in Two Seperate Fatal Accidents This Week

November 1, 2011

Two people were killed and one injured in a car accident on the southbound 805 freeway at 10p.m. Monday night. The fatal accident involved a FedEx semi-truck with two trailers. Two lanes just south of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard were temporarily closed while the accident was investigated. The CHP reported that it appears the Semi T-boned the sedan. A passenger was sent to Sharp Memorial Hospital, the status of the injured party is not available.

Unfortunately, this is the second fatal accident involving a FedEx truck in recent days. This past Thursday a tragic accident in Senatobia, Mississippi took the lives of two children. Both 7-year-old Gabrielle Holland and 2-year-old Gracie Holland were in the back seat of a Saturn driven by their mother, Jennifer Holland, when it was rear-ended by a FedEx truck a little more than a mile south of Senatobia. The impact of the crash sent the Saturn into the back of a white Infiniti. This accident is currently under investigation, it has not been reported how fast the FedEx truck was traveling at the time of impact.
