There were five people injured in a two-car collision west of Calexico on Tuesday, November 13, 2012. The collision occurred near the intersection of Highway 98 and Pulliam Road south of Seeley. According to the report from the California Highway Patrol Juan Torresmelero, 24 was driving east on Highway 98, while 55 year-old Yolanda Galaz was traveling west on the same highway. One of the drivers crossed into the other lane causing the cars have a head on collision.
All 5 individuals involved in the collision complained of pain in a number of areas, including the head, back, neck and abdomen. Torresmelero and his passengers, 38-year-old Juan Jimenez, 26-year-old Sarai Alvarez and 26-year-old Esa Ramirez suffered injuries severe enough to require being air-lifted from the scene. Galaz was transported by ambulance to El Centro Regional Medical Center.
